FRENCH ARITHMETIC TEXTBOOKS DURING THE 19TH CENTURY

Resumo

In this article, we want to analyse textbooks of the 19^th century to know which pedagogical method was proposed to teachers and pupils. We choose to work on textbooks published between 1798 and 1881, a period of more than eighty years. During this time, methods changed to increase the pupils’ progress. We will try to analyse this evolution.
